My critical question involves the use of smart phones and there effects on socializing. I would like to address either high school student or college students for my next project. I chose to talk to these students because I feel that during these years is where you make the most critical decisions in your life. I want to work with a video about texting and driving. I want the audience to feel that there is a time and place for their phones and in the car is not one of them. The purpose for this is that i want kids to realize how dangerous texting and driving can be. I imagine my audience for this text would be teenagers who think they are on top of the world. Kids that come across as very confident and that nothing can slow them down. I want to reach out to these kids in order to save their lives, and show them how quickly a life can be lost. The genre on my topic is a youtube video about texting and driving and the consequences of it. I think the modes that are involved with this genre will consist of music and text on the screen. I think they will use more of a sad music in order to bring out the sad situation the happened to the driver texting and driving. I believe that the text in the video will consist of the messages the man was sending before the accident and the message the video is trying to get across in the end.  Right now I do not understand the conventions of this genre fully. I understand the basics but not the overall picture. I would assume that the main conventions of the video would have to be the phone and the car. As a model text I would like to use a commercial that is on youtube.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRpFwv6RkyE
